AMD and Nvidia developing Arm chips to take on Intel

Nvidia Corp. is using Arm Holdings Plc technology to develop chips that would challenge Intel Corp. processors in personal computers, ratcheting up competition between the two semiconductor makers, according to people familiar with the situation.

Nvidia, whose artificial intelligence (AI) accelerator chips already dominate that market, is attempting to make central processing units for PCs, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the matter is private.

Little do people know that Ryzen en Epyc has ARM cores. Of course people will get blue and shout that I am a retard until I point them to the ARM core in the PSP. Of course you can't use the core to do general purpose compute but the AMD designs all have ARM in them already :-)

The correct way of referring to the architecture is ARM... not Arm
You made me look! Actually the article was right and I was wrong in my post. It is Arm not ARM. It used to stand for Acorn RISC Machine but it doesn't anymore. Arm on their own website doesn't use capitals anymore.

actually it's all lowercase arm now. The silicon I have on my desk is still ARM (and that was the case in 2017)
