Sorry for a probably stupid post, but not very clued up on AMD...
If I buy an AMD 3500+ which is Socket 939, and a 939 mobo to go with it, will I in future be able to buy an AM2 CPU that'll work in the mobo, or an AM2 mobo that'll work wig this CPU? Or will I have to buy a new CPU and mobo?
I'm almost certain the second option is true, but would just like to confirm.
Btw, will this CPU be a very noticeable performance increase over my current Celeron? Again, pretty sure about this one, but would like to make sure...
If you're set on AMD, try and get a Socket F CPU with 1MB L2 cache for your AM2 mobo.
A Socket F will hardly work in a Socket AM2 as you claimed...
