I looked at the AMD's, not worth it. I cancelled my idea of going FX 6300

Never mind the i7, it barely beats an i3.
So why go an i7 or FX8350
Your better off just going an I5. And Kalahari has them starting at R2300. The irony is that it can run it on a R650 Motherboard...
With the AMD you gonna require a R1600 motherboard.
The FX series just uses too much power, as a result it forces you to use an expensive motherboard in order to cope.

Nope.
That i3 is dual core.
If you use your pc more than gaming it makes no sense.
Tom's Hardware even recommends the fx6300 as an awesome busget choice:

Which I 100% agree with. The FX6300 is probably the best value for money gaming CPU out now.

But that's when going new. Not sure FX6300 upgrade is fully justified yet. One normally normally does that if GPU is already maxed out.

If you do other things on your PC like video editing stuff the fx6300 is the better all round cpu.

If you really want more FPS, depending on your power supply, get another 290x rather. Keep your CPU.

He looks already close to the 100 mark with that setup then unless he's main goal is to max it out.
80/100 fps?
But then again BF4 online environment with more players take a bigger hit on the CPU
How much power he gonna need for those two cards?

just need to clear up its a 290 ...not 290x....
i have a 750w 80+bronse psu.
the point of the thread was after research (google) some ppl state the cpu will bottleneck the 290...like i say after some googleing that what the ppl in world say.

If you launch the game using the Mantle renderer, it won't be bottlenecked by your CPU.
Higher base clock speeds. Metro:LL prefers clock speed, cache and single-threaded performance over more cores, although it's not a good benchmark for giving you an idea what other games will deliver in terms of FPS.
