AMD man charged for stealing Intel trade secrets

Ouch. But doesn't the "conflict of interest" rule say that you can't be employed by 2 companies at the same time?

This sounds like a case looking for defendant.

Let me get this straight, AMD didin't benefit; even the FBI agrees, Pani didn't benefit because if he didn't sell the secrets to AMD then to whome? At the time he downloaded the documents he was still working for Intel and clearly must have had access to and therefore clearance to download the documents he did.

So what's actually going on here?

If you look at what is actually happening in the x86 environment it should be the other way round - intel is (and has been) copying a lot of AMD.
