AMD release new pricing

Those are the prices of the processors sold in 1000 units from the manufacturers, so make that x2 3800+ around R1500 and that x2 5000+ around R2500, still very cheap! YAY!

This is scheduled for 23 July, just like Intels next pricedrop on all their netburst stuff.

My one supplier has the supurb Core 2 Duo E6300 1.8GHZ, 2MB L2 Cache coming in August, and it will retail at about R1900!

Okay so this is AM2, what's the prices going to look like for 939?

Too answer Scooby, initially the AMD (939) will still offer a reasonable price to perfomance ratio because:

You can get good 939 motherboards for under R600, you can use your old DDR, and you'll perform within 5-10% at this cheaper price.

Socket AM2 and Intel Core 2 wise, Intel will probably offer the best price to perfomance, considering that the 1,8GHz Core 2 Duo beats the 2,2GHz AMD's pretty handily and their motherbaords and memory cost the same...

With the new Intel Duo 2 range coming out soon I'm not surprised AMD are adjusting prices. <Die Pentium Die!>

The new E6600 Conroe will be about R2950 retail and it whoops an R11 000 FX62. AMD are going to have to do some serious price drops still :D

but these prices still kick ass. I cant wait to upgrade now, im gonna get me a nice cheap 3500+ or something, I have very little cash okay...

And the board + ram are cheap for that too.

Ag Shame these AMD never die supporters still will not recognize value for money, Why upgrade to something "cheap" if you are going to be sorry by December. At 75% (25%) saving on a better system I will rather go Conroe. AMD will need a few years to catch up again (I doubt it) then you can "Upgrade" if Intel does not have something better then!

Shame cannot accept that AMD has lost it for quieta while!:D

Ag shame, pupa cant read and/or comprehend :p

I dont know where he has seen these "AMD fanbois", maybe cause he is a Intel fanboi and anything that isn't exactly like him must be a AMD fanboi...

Say you have just R2700, then a AMD X2 3800 is possible, with a gig of RAM and a nVidia chipset motherboard, if you dont have more, you buy it, you wont be crying by Christmas cause it wont suddenly stop playing games...

And if you have say R4000, you can afford a nice E6300, gig of RAM and a nice Intel (and eventually nForce 5) motherboards, and you'll be faster than the guy with his 3800+ and can shake your big E penis around...

And both can get overclocked to hell and gone, so yeah...

Go go go price war rangers!!!

Ag shame so you are paranoid, old Boi, I though I would stir up some wanker, :D so **** your E penis and cry! while I will be using the Conroe and smile. BTW for that 2700+ a little more I can afford a Conroe Mobo and Motherboard! The only reason some of you claim what you say is because you want to get rid of the Shiite before Intel floood the market! Poor consumers always have to listen to the expert scammers, who is out to make a buck.

2 motherboards

BTW I agree Conroe is gonna kick some serious ass

Im just taking a more balanced view for the entry level segment than him and he thinks I'm a AMD fanboi or something, what a fool, Mr T must pity him a lot...

I bet you loved those P4E Presshots... :D

Sic, balanced view! read all your posts! Entry level, suck my @!@ :D I stated nothing about entry level I stated "value for money", I never thought you anything, did not even respond or refer to you, I would have quoted you if I thought it worth responding to your cr@p! If You have a problem with PPl liking Intel above AMD with reasons then it is your mantel not mine. Amd is good its just Intel is better, look at the market share and ask why? Do not attack me for your percieved notions as all you do is make me realise you have your E penis stuck in your mouth and your @!@ as a brain! :D

Here are your shoes, and here are mine, will they fit?!?! :D

Seem you have both pairs with you try them and tell us, Maybe you know more about shoes than computers. Oh I forgot You must have AMD, No wonder! :D

I can see you are from Garsfontein, Will pop in when I pass there again, In the meantime milk a cow, maybe thereafter you will speak some sense.
Peace, Good night or rather Morning!

Answer this sometime please, who are these "AMD never die supporters" you were refering too then if I wasnt us who posted?

Want some sense huh? For certain dual core price points the Pentium D 805 is good, at others the 3800+ and for the rest, Core 2 Duo baby!

Yes, I have a AMD system currently, my mom too, but thats because there isnt a way a Intel system can be as quiet (A64 2800+ with Cool n Quiet and (cheap) motherboard quieting features running, you cant even hear its on, try that with a Intel on the cheap). My file server is my old Celeron 1100 and its going along just fine...
