Watched this last night. Very interesting watch. Discusses the so called health benefits and debunking it, the religious aspect, has a African woman that is pro female cutting, a jew or two against cutting boys etc etc.....oh and some fcking totally cray cray doctors if you ask me that is really REALLY for cutting boys.

Give it a watch and let us know what you think. I know this is a debate that has been had many times on this forum, but first time I have seen a actual documentary about the issue.

I saw something the other day, there is a movement within the Jewish community to stop the cutting at the bris. The boy can still opt in later but they just do a prayer and have a party instead of cutting up the kid.

That is indeed also mentioned in the film.

I do suspect if ever there was a motion to make it illegal to cut your baby boy in the US there would be a massive outcry and block from the jewish communities. In the film there was actually such a case already and the jews did not like it one little bit.

Irreversible and non-consensual, - the only reason it gets a pass is because it's been accepted for so long. Let the kid choose to be circumcised when he is old enough to understand the procedure. Or perhaps the Jewish community is just afraid that people with foreskins are more likely to turn Christian or something....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebionites

Scholars, including Richard Bauckham, distinguish the high Christology practiced by the Jerusalem church under James with the low Christology later adopted by the Ebionites.[82] Tabor argues[83][84] that the Ebionites claimed a dynastic apostolic succession for the relatives of Jesus. Epiphanius relates that the Ebionites opposed the Apostle Paul, who they saw as responsible for the idea that gentile Christians did not have to be circumcised or follow the Law of Moses, and named him an apostate.[22] Epiphanius further relates that some Ebionites alleged that Paul was a Greek who converted to Judaism in order to marry the daughter of a high priest of Israel, but apostatized when she rejected him.[85][86]
I happened to run across this just yesterday... :D

Apparently health benefits to circumcision? Less chance of contracting AIDS, etc?

According to the film, those studies are basically BS. The difference between the men that took part in the studies and the men that remained uncut, the change in infection rate was apparently 1% or something, nowhere close to the 60% the studies published. Also, if you think about it, if you compare the USA where vast majority of men are cut to Europe, where most men are uncut, USA have a higher HIV infection rate than Europe.....so how can it be that circumcision is preventing HIV?

Exactly my question. There are even brochures and pamphlets that says it's beneficial to your health, specifically with regards to AIDS.

If it's got something to do with juices stuck under your foreskin for longer than it would be on a cut prick, then immediately washing afterwards should be pretty much the same.

I personally think that the doctors and organisations making those claims regarding HIV infection being reduced by circumcision is extremely irresponsible and playing a dangerous game. And WHY? I dont understand WHY they are doing it. It baffles me.

Should be common knowledge by now that circumcision is nothing but mutilation.
There are zero real world benefits.
Supporting the narrative that being cut 'reduces your risk of HIV' just encourages more people not to use condoms.
It is irresponsibility an just plain idiotic.
Circumcision should be outlawed same as female genital mutilation is, as it is 100% the same thing.
sickening act.

I believe FGM does a whole lot more damage than simply circumcising a male.
