I'd assume they wanted to see how their infrastructure stood up to the increased load?? very sad indeed :crying:
Would be nice to have some official feedback...

I'm connected to the Newlands Tower. Is any else experiencing high latency. Getting over 230ms to local sites? (Mweb.co.za, iol.co.za)

My usage stats email on the 1st also said 4096K, but the next day it was back to 2048K. No speed upgrade for me either....

In the last couple of weeks, at certain times , the connection felt more like downgraded rather than upgraded: Laggy browsing, high latency both local and international and erratic download speeds.

Get your act together amobia!

I've currently got an open ticket regarding the same thing. Speak to 'Leroy' he knows quite a bit and is monitoring.

Also download WinMTR and trace route 8.8.8.8 and www.mweb.co.za and send results to support@amobia.com this will open a new ticket.

My problems seem to start around 16:00 and continue till 02:00.

Phoning in the evening is fruitless and you will get better results by emailing.

Thanks MDE,
just sent an email to support, with the info you suggested. Let's hope the problem gets resolved quickly.

Pleasure. I am also hoping for a quick resolution.

One thing I did notice is that during the 24hr upgrade my line was really good. 30ms latency. So maybe just a congestion issue...but who knows.

BTW what is your IP on the forth hop? Mine is 196.28.33.185/6 which is where the issue of latency seems to start.

Well I never got upgraded during the 24hr upgrade period, but I also experienced very reduced latency. Browsing was so snappy that day.

On the third hop I get : "No response from host" with 100% packet loss, and on the fourth I get the same IP as you, with a spike in latency (~150ms)

I'm glad we both are in the same boat as this will definitely increase our likely hood of getting Amobia to acknowledge that there is an issue with there systems.

I believe HOP 3 is their proxy server which prioritizes the traffic. Maybe this is where the issues are arising?

@sjaak - please do a tracert to 8.8.8.8 and let us know what your 4th hop IP is as this will allow us to determine if its a IP range that's an issue or possibly the proxy.
