They contacted me and asked me to do some speedtests.
Gave me this link to test http://test.amobia.com/

It showed that my connection is working fine, but I think it just tests the speeds in their internal network, because real speedtest.net tests are still bad.

They acknowledged there is some kind of problem and said they'll look into it and contact me if there is an update.
Today I can't even watch 360p youtube without buffering all the time...

Do you remember whom you spoke too?

Yeah the test.amobia.com is internal and just tests the CPE to the tower.

Have requested a tower frequency adjustment. Will only happen at 9 tonight hopefully. Will check again just afterwards and if no adjustment will report.

Nope no change...hopefully it has been escalated to core management. Will find out tomorrow.

UPDATE:

Reconfigured something on the tower last night around 12AM as Pingplotter showed no throughput for 30mins and everything seems to be back to AAA levels. Will monitor for a few days.

Okay this is starting to get really frustrating...
The connection is all over the place once again.
Yesterday it was nearly perfect, but today it's up and down, fine for a while then crawling again.

MDE, how are things your side?

Well the main issue has come back. High latency ( over 200 ms to local sites ) but my speeds are fine. It seems that their bandwidth management server is failing them as this is what was adjusted by a senior tech on Friday.

@sergie - Can I ask you to phone in tomorrow and speak to the senior tech called "Werner". This is so we can build up a case of how to solve this. You can reference my ticket number 111278 which I have open regarding this. Thanks.

I have a lot of trouble using voip and this is abig deal for me.

Using pingtest.net I get packetloss between 15 and 25 %.

My equipment was upgraded recently, I live in Sunset Beach.

Is it just not possible to get a halfway decent internet connection or am I missing something?

As I suggested to sergie maybe phone in and speak to Werner. The only way we are going to solve this is by phoning in. When you get through ask to speak to a senior technician.

Also experiencing high packet loss and latency rendering the connection unusable (24% loss just now). Have logged a ticket and will give them a call tomorrow. I am in the Weltevredenpark area connecting to Cresta.

I'm in Radiokop connecting to cresta and was expericing the same issue.

Lately amobia has become very unstable, i used to have a stable 215ms to EU WOW, now i'm lucky to ever get below 350ms but usually spikes randomly up to 800ms.

Techie called and said they have made some adjustments...speeds are okay now (can get up to 300Kb/s after 11pm-ish) though there are still latency spikes. I don't use the line for gaming so I'm somewhat okay with the occasional spike...it does throw off my radio station streaming on XBMC which probably annoys the neighbours when the "stuck cd" effect kicks in ;-)
