It definitely is the case... So CR doesn't just blindly follow ANC policies, but at the same time he isn't standing up and doing shyte that he needs to do and shooting down the retarded ones from the ANC either.

The SARB one was largely symbolic anyway, nationalising it would have changed nothing.

Whenever I hear him speak, that is what he usually speaks about, shedding jobs in SOEs, etc. all the things the ANC don't want to do because of union pressure. Those idiots have way too much say for such a small percentage of support of the population.

He has always been the problem - he was deputy to Zuma, he was leader of the unions, he encouraged the masses to not pay their bills as a form of protest.
 
The political life expectancy of anyone in the ANC who advocates taking tough decisions could probably be measured in minutes... People in the ANC don't want to hear the hard truths...

The same reason the conservatives will win the next election in the UK unless a miracle of epic proportions happens and the Lib Dems somehow do something to garner votes as the sane(ish) middle ground, because despite the absolute idiocy of Johnson, Jeremy Corbyn is far worse, and most sane people recognise that.

It's all about the choices in the 2 party system.

It was Obama or McCain - who was just flatout too old at 72 and his VP was Sarah Palin who basically everyone hated.

Trump vs Hillary Clinton - same problem. Here you have Hobson's Choice = the idiot vs the insane woman.

Unfortunately it seems as though not even the Chinese can make Africa work. They keep trying various projects, but end up holding the short straw because you know Africa.... ask them what happened to the grand scheme to grow rice in Mozambique as a case in point.
