lol yeah i gave up on ananzi ages ago, 20 pages of crap with one or two results that actually related to what you searched for... no thanks

I don't think that Ananzi uses its own search technology. More likely they licensed it from another search engine back in the days when Google wasn't so dominant. Their technology is definitely outdated if their results are anything to go by.

Ananzi was fine way back in the beginning. I stopped using it years ago because it got so bad.

I still have an ananzi email address although i do not know how much longer as quite a few people seem to have problems sending me an email to that address. I have not used their search function for some time.

Ananzi gives the impression that they have a random page selector producing the results. They never seem to have anything to do with the search terms.

It's actually a couple of octopuses suckering a set of results back to one's browser...

"According to the latest OPA statistics, Ananzi remains the most popular search engine in SA, but its poor search results means that it is fast losing ground against Google and other rivals."

How does OPA know how many people use Google.co.za ??
I doubt that Google will share this information, so only some market research might reveal this.

I think Ananzi has long ago lost the battle to Google.co.za, and the poor Search Results is the biggest cause.

Google.com is in my search bar so I rarely use anything else.

Well its a good thing i dont use ananzi as its search results are horrific. Do a search for myadsl. Google and others remain supreme.

Occasionally I'll give ananzi a try when google and others stump me and don't give me what I want/need.. or when I need to trawl the directories for something very localised... but 99.9% of the time it just gives me rubbish results...

Google ftw...

I dont think people really use ananzi for searched. I'm pretty sure if you ask them to report on usage you will find search to be a small part of their usage stats.

Ananzi (which has search) is a portal, not a search engine.
