This is dimwitted to say the least.

If the Dalai Lama needs to leave on a certain date to be here on time, and by the time he had to leave, his visa has not been granted, he has NO CHOICE but to drop his visa application. It is in fact a denial of the visa by default. Keeping quiet is an answer in itself!

The brother leader obviously;) travels on a diplomatic passport and wouldn't need a visa to enter say, the US for his annual tent pitching.

racist and a fool HARDLY! He has always spoke the truth and even opposed Jacob Zuma becoming president due to his "moral failings". He has never supported anything clearly corrupt by this government or based on color or ethnicity. Malema-Zuma-AWB-Most of the cabinet are Racist fools.How you came to these opinions about him is quite strange.

Yeah, but it took yonks. A complicated application should take about ½ an hour. They were sitting on their thumbs dithering and waiting for instructions from Beijing.

I'm guessing that it may be because he suggested a once-off wealth tax for wealthy white people. I'm not sure how that is racist though, compared to the things said by many ANC members in recent times.

While i don't agree with his suggestion of this 'wealth tax' I still don't think he was being racist by his suggestion. Do we conveniently ignore that in the same conference he
also called on members of President Jacob Zuma’s cabinet to sell their “expensive cars”

The SA government has finally lost their microscopic balls altogether! I am truly ashamed to live in SA right now. At least, this whole debacle is portrayed in all the media agencies of the world (BBC, Al Jazeera, France 24, etc) I hope this is a wake-up call to all South Africans that the ANC has been at power long enough! Change has to come soon

Ah yes. Saying 'all white people must be taxed' isn't racist, but if I would say that black people should pay extra taxes, the world would be too small. Sure. :D
