ANC secures three wards in by-elections

The ANC secured three wards in Wednesday's by-elections and won one from the DA, according to results released by the Electoral Commission of SA (IEC) on Thursday.

The African National Congress retained Ward 2 in Nala, Free State, with its candidate Meriam Ncheche taking 47.09 percent of the votes.

The ANC also retained Ward 5 in Swellendam, Western Cape, with candidate Gladys Libazi securing 72.63 percent of the votes. Ward 1 in Amahlathi was uncontested and secured by ANC candidate Dumisani Mzili.

The ANC managed to defeat the Democratic Alliance in Ward 10 of Witzenberg [Ceres], Western Cape, with its candidate Andries Smit taking 43.38 percent of the votes.

The ANC in the Western Cape said it was elated with the results.

"The ANC also notes the ANC won with a marked margin over the DA," said provincial leader Marius Fransman in a statement.

"The ANC is elated with the trust and support of the voters that showed the ANC is still the only party that represent their hopes and aspirations."

The residents of Witzenberg in Ceres are a bunch of retards (or at least 43.38% of them are)
 
It's really sad to see how many dumb people we have in South Africa, but that is exactly how the anc wants their voters to be.
 
Amazing that in the midst of everything they can do so well. Makes you wonder what will really happen next year
 
Our ward Councillor is a P.O.S - DA, makes me depressed. you can't get hold of him, get verbally attacked when you do, and his words are just empty, can't even be bothered to respond to emails etc.

Report him to his party....escalate further, if need be...councillors are there to serve the community...

I just hope South Africa will be rid of the anc before I die, so that we can see all people prosper in this beautiful country.

Been through the process before. He will not get fired.
I am a DA supporter/member, and it pains me to say this, but they too have useless and frustrating in high positions

I think most organisations are :(...

I would at least make his behaviour very public on twitter and faceboob and all that.... embarass the party into removing him.

It has been tried with JP Smith and Brett Herron. It gets nowhere.
Hell, Brett Herron has been slammed in the news a lot lately, and nothing has changed
