Ceres is rural...Joburg is urban. Huge difference. DA are strongest in urban metros - CT, PE, JHB, PTA...

Ceres and surrounding areas was at the center of the farm workers strike a few years back. I think that may play into it, just as the Marikana Massacre has seriously eroded ANC support in Rustenburg.

But it's important to note that ANC support is less than 50%. A strong independent candidate - that ran both 2013 and this year - is splitting the vote in the ward.
