ANC website going down: Anonymous

Well you know if the ANC did not support Mugabe then ZanuPF would have just labelled SA as still being under the thumb of the evil colonial powers - That's the usual response to anything they do not like.

It would have caused raised eyebrows in the African League of Extraordinary Dictators. Gaddafi would have probably had a heart attack and spoiled it for the revolutionaries.

Not entirely sure what they are actually hoping to achieve with taking the ANC site down.... but at least its a better target than IOL.

i want to agree with you but it's the tax payers are going to be covering the bill to fight the DDoS. so, again, Anon not really thinking things through

Interestingly enough, the IP range for the anc's site is :

Afrihost powering the ANC...?

We don't have any affiliations to any political parties or groups. We are not in any way directly affiliated to the ANC, as you can see this a dedicated client providing services to them.

However, we strongly condemn these types of cyberattacks , purely for the fact the innocent clients can potentially be affected by these kinds of attacks by having their businesses taken offline, losing valuable income generated via the internet, etc. Unfortunately DOS attacks are a reality of the internet today, and we take every possible measure to prevent any collateral impact on other clients, who are not connected to the DOS target.

We do believe that everyone has the right to express their dissatisfaction and political views, but not to the extent that innocent people are harmed or affected negatively :(

next target, steal as many of their internal documents as possible, I'm sure there is enough evidence of corruption in their "classified" files

Wikileaks yearns for some ANC flavour.

these guys may not be tech wizzards but all stuff is done directly and in cash .....they've been playing this corruption game too long

And this is why I labelled anonafrica as a 12yr old child with their IOL stunt...

They are not thinking things through, and they are achieving nothing.

I agree with the sentiments echoed above. Rather than a rather trivial DoS, how about compromising their systems and obtaining embarrassing information, and making that public domain.

Seems to me someone is pissing themselves right now as that has been pointed out to anon :p

I dunno

I kind of prefer them to just make statements as opposed to trying to hunt down sensitive information...

That's the ANC way of doing things. We'll initiate a discussion to have a working group to think about saying something about how we think corruption might be bad.

All talk, no action.

LOL, all the bitching about DOS, imagine the arguments over information gathering.

Wow ... that was a quick draw ...

/Waiting for a thread where cANCer points to AnonAfrica as white e-freedom fighters being the love-child of apartheid.
