The rest :

"Similar to the poor white problem, black poverty today has been explained as the result of various factors.
Apartheid-policy as well as the policies of segregation that preceded it are often seen collectively as a main
cause of black poverty. Yet, without suggesting that segregationist policies did not contribute to black
poverty, it is argued here that there are other underlying reasons for the magnitude of black poverty today.
Similarly to the poor white problem, black poverty is caused by a mix of exogenous and endogenous
factors, including historical factors, education, discriminatory labour policies, shifting demographic trends,
language, culture and, of course, politics. This section investigates the causes of both the poor white
problem and black poverty today, and identifies the links between the two periods."

May be a good idea to read your own links before posting them.

Just glad to see you're actually doing research. And, unsurprisingly, finding a lot of information that fits your pre-drawn conclusions!

I did find it interesting, though, that poor whites would blame scapegoats for their problems instead of proactively getting off their asses and studying for degrees in law, medicine and engineering. Same with a lot of poor blacks today, even though those opportunities are purportedly available to them.

Seems black and white aren't that different after all! Who'da thunk it.

Agreed. And though that doesn't make it right - there is still one BIG difference between Pre and Post '94 nepotism:

Buddy if you didn't perform YOU WERE OUT! The word "Accountability" still had meaning Pre '94 - again I'm not saying it makes it right but at least work got done!

Not the case everywhere - I once had the "pleasure" to have to go do some work at SASOL 2 & 3 in Secunda in about 1986. Any time you walked into a workshop you would find people working, overhauling valves etc and then in the offices and the tea room one would find loads of mense sitting artound talking kark and drinking tea - these guys would do this all day - they were the SASOL staff guys - the ones working were the contractors, this was the same in the Electrical, Instrument and mechanical 'shops. All the staff guys were afrikaans, I don't think I met one soutie the whole time I was there. Other contractors that I sppoke to told me that it was similar in all the other big parastatals. It MAY have been different in private companies that had a bottom line and share holders to worry about.

It was your link, and was the official conclusion of the report. It just means that I was right all along.

You didn't quote it because you had tried to obfuscate the official conclusion and had quoted some BS that was rejected by the study !

Highly unethical, BTW !
