Android 4.3 running on several devices already, server logs show

My TF101 on EOS Nightly can not use Google Now (App crashes) and reboots for no reason at least once a week.
My Xperia Play lose gamepad controles on some games.
My Wife's S3 gave so much crap that she told me to put it back to stock or else she is gonna get an iPhone, and yes I tried loads of different ROMs and all had there unique quirk that if you can live with it is ok but do not expect a 100% smooth experience.

I know some people here gonna argue with me and say they never had any issues and I can bank guarantee you that they are all lying. XDA forums of every ROM can prove my point, not one of them doesn't have some sort of complaint.

Yeah seen this a few times on my android devices, in most cases I prefer to stick to stock or a stock based ROM for the above reason.

It does, Samsung only release partial source (that which they are obliged to). And according to independent devs what they do release is poorly documented and often doesnt work exactly like their pre-compiled binaries.

Anyway your milage with custom ROMs will vary depending on platform maturity and the ingenuity of the devs involved. I can honestly say on the S2, CM10.1 4.2.2 is a much better OS in every respect (speed, smoothness, resource consumption and look & feel) than Samsung's best attempt (latest 4.1.2 XWLSN).

The point of running custom ROMs is not just to have something different, but also newer from an Android perspective. For instance the lockscreen in 4.1 is little better than IOS, while in 4.2 it was completely revamped making it much more flexible & useful (with the likes of DashClock). There are also fundamental inefficiencies in Android's core that Google will get to optimising in future versions e.g. S4 1.9GHz quad core still cannot match the consistently smooth ballistic scrolling of a lowly iPhone dual core at 1.2 GHz.

Because that where people go to complain. And in relative terms its not that much e.g. there are over 4 million copies of CyanogenMod running in the field.

The CPU chipset has nothing to do with it. If you said the 3rd party chips like WiFI and so on yes they I would agree.

I can continue like my old HTC Desire HD that had WiFi issues on ICS and so on. The fact remains there is countless of complaints on every ROMs xda page so its good to warn people about it. Like I said before, you might find one with quirks that you can live with but do not go in thinking everything is going to be hunky dory from the get go.

Was gonna respond, but Roman4604 beat me to it :)

This is why the CM team were debating whether or not they would even develop CM for the S4, due to their past experiences with Samsung.

Issue is not the S4 per say, but rather Exynos (i9500) vs Snapdragon (i9505). Initial release of CM10.1 for the i9505 (& carrier variants) is already released.

Yip, agreed, but one of complaints was Exynos and the lack of sources for the chipsets... I should have been more clear, thanks for that.
 
I'm looking at this breakout review and I'm amazed at how affordable it is. Any one who owns it, can you please care to share some info about this smartphone? Thank you.
