Hi can someone design an android app for vodacom so you can see your data bundle balance... a widget would be awesome!

Or maybe there is on already? or maybe a Vodafone app?

The *111# method is to long!

Add it as a contact, and make a shortcut for it. You will still have to navigate the menu, but you won't have to type in *111#.

Add *111*502# to your contacts, call it "data balance" or something.. Long click on the entry and select add to home screen. Just tap on the icon when you need to check the balance. I cant verify the ussd code but I do something similar on my RBM phone.

I'm developing one as we speak. Should be done soon.
Its just on MTN for now, as i need to get my hands on a Vodacom sim to test.

Is it for MTN contract or prepaid. If it is for contract I would buy it if the price is reasonable.

I can test the Cell C one for you if you want, including screenshots of data that they return when you do a *101#

Contract at first.

That would help, but let me get it up and running on MTN first before i expand it to other providers.

The USSD app on the market works perfectly, even scans your current network provider for all the available USSD codes, detected *111# as well as *100# (balance) *111*500# (data with exp date) *100*502# (airtime +data in bytes).

Would seem pretty pointless developing 1 specifically for MTN if this app should do the same function, also has an auto check setting, you can have it update on a timed frequency, after receiving or making calls and same for sending sms's and disconnecting from the internet. You can also set the check delay on those last 3 and force it to only check when the screen is off as to not disturb anything your actually busy with.

@CranialBlaze *111*500# for vodacom works 100% with USSD dialer for the marketplace thanx :D

If you open USSD Checker, the 2nd icon top right, the +on a wall or whatever it is symbol scans your network for its USSD codes, you can test what comes up and add what you want to the check list from thier.
I only have a voda sim but it should get all needed results for the mtn, cellc nad virgin users. Its what i got the ssd code from in the first place.

yip USSD checker is the app i was looking for! awesome :) thanx guys

got my home screen widget with my sms bundle, data bundle and airtime you can even have the expiry dates :D
updates every hour or after you use the net, sms or call someone

What's a reasonable price anyway? :P

I would pay anything between R5 and R10. Not really much more, because I can just do it manually.

That USSD checker thing didn't work out for me, because I kept on having to add the stuff anyway, so it was manual regardless. The problem with it is if there are more than two numbers that you have to type in. *111*123# works fine, but if you have something like *123*pin*1 and you have to type in another number it just pops up and ask you to type in that number anyway. So at the moment I have a contact that is *123*pin*1# and then it pops up and I just enter 1 again.

Well that in a way makes sense, 3 levels deep is further than most ussd codes really go, yes if you navigate down using the menu, for example data is *111# then 1 then 4 or the other way round, but their is a ussd short code which is *111*500#. Personally i have never seen a ussd code that uses a pin other than internet banking and this is not designed for that purpose. What network is it and what query you running that actually needs a password?

USSD Checker doesn't work on Honeycomb :-( . Works great on my SGS2. Still looking for a solution for my SGT 10.1 on MTN. Need to check data balance on a daily basis. Anyone have a solution?
