Android App requests / Looking for an app that does X - thread

Hmm, I'm gonna guess since it's Alpha it won't have German predictions for me just yet.

Ok. So 2 annoyances with SwiftKey.
Many of the skins don't properly highlight all caps mode...a few barely change the colour of the shift key, others even instead almost gray out the key.
And the Smiley button is much larger so I keep accidentally pressing it when backspacing.
Not enough to make me go back to stock cuz I really am much more accurate with it, but still marginally annoying. Oh well. Thanks again for the recommendation.

come now, Swiftkey has a hardcore theme, called Ninja Pro.

once you actually get used to the layout and workings of the keyboard you change to that.

I have been using it since my s2, definitely the best keyboard out there, and you just need to find a theme and set up that works for you. trust me there is a lot to fiddle with still that you have not set up.

Yeah no, definitely not gonna do that. Ever.
Getting used to it is one thing, not being able to fix subsequent mistakes easily is another. And I've never been a fan of minimalism.
I'm such a casual cellphone typist though that I'm usually only used to a phone's key layout by the time it's time for the next one that then has different ergonomics and screen size that then resets everything.

I forgot one more annoyance and that's that both my Samsung and the stock Sony keypads were better at selecting the correct character from a longpress. But then again they also had less overall shortcut characters.

Never ran into those issues with swift myself, been using it for many years, my smiley button is actually quite a bit smaller than backspace, definitely never hit it by mistake.
Maybe you just chose a rubbish theme.

LOL dude, those themes are redonk.

I'm assuming you don't ever type in German :P
The Samsung and Xperia keypads both chose the German accented letters as the first longpress character if if default language was set to either German or Dutch. Swift doesn't have a default so it doesn't prioritise them. And the Xperia put a question mark as the first longpress character on the dot which I found really useful and now miss.

And I hope you aren't confusing backspace with spacebar because on all themes the smiley button (doubling as return on longpress) is about the same size as the backspace button above it. On the Samsung and Xperia keypads smileys and return were separate buttons so the smiley was a really thin button next to the spacebar and thus never got pressed accidentally.

And the Shift thing wouldn't bother you for obvious reasons since you are hiding most of the rest of the keypad anyways (and it doesn't apply to all themes...but I don't really like the lighter ones where it doesn't apply).

Look they're all small things. I'm just mentioning them because Swift also isn't quite perfect and perhaps someone else out there knows of something that doesn't have those annoyances (though of course it might have others). Just nitpicking basically. I'll stick to Swift over stock though.

Looks bigger to me, using the Material theme. I even set my key size to the smallest possible.

What's a good lost phone/remotely lock the phone app?
I know I can do that via Google account but my Google account has a enormous password/2 step verification etc, I normally use a 3rd party app that I can use an easy to remember password to access the web interface on any device and find my phone, remote wipe etc. Been using prey for yrs(never actually needed to use it though) but it seems it's not so good anymore, any other recommendations?

Well I gave Prey a thorough testing and it still seems good to go, everything seemed to work flawlessly except the locking of the power button, you are supposed to be able to disable the switching off of the phone but didn't work on my G4, otherwise all good.

Once the phone is locked down with prey each time someone unsuccessfully tries to unlock the phone the prey reports give the phones location, surrounding WiFi networks, full specs of the device including IMEI number and high res pics from the front and back camera's.

Hi all :-)

Any app / process to auto set Android Wear device to 'None' notifications during Google Calendar event, and exit it when meeting is done?

Haven't looked at a Tasker integration, but I've gotten so out of Tasker that I'd prefer an app to make it easy to manage... If anyone knows :-)

But tasker is the app that makes it easy to manage

I ask kindly? :-)

Hopefully without rooting...

Nope, but I do know you not getting away without rooting. You will need 'NotificationsOff' to achieve this. There may be other apps, but in order to disable notifications without disabling sync you need root.

Just remember, if the OS doe snot support it, it probably needs root.

EDIT: Does wear not respect DND settings from Lolipop+? That you can automate with tasker without root.
