I follow mostly technology podcasts (the cell phone junky podcast is also good), Down these mean streets is Old Time Radio (detective stories).

Decoder ring theatre is something you have to check. Its audio plays, try Black Jack Justice, it is really good.

I am without adsl at this point /sob. So I am behind on my listening.
 
Does anyone know of an app that will let me fill out a Google Form offline and then submit it when I'm online again?

I want to make a Google Form that I can fill using my phone and use the entries as a sort of logbook...

If you have a decent phone (S2 in my case), you can design in a browser like Firefox. Sign in to Google Drive and set browser to Desktop mode. When dragging the screen, touch next to entries, not on them to avoid moving them accidentally.

But that means you have to be online to fill in the form and you are using a browser, I want to be able to fill in forms using an app and be able to do so offline too...

I want to be able to fill something like that in offline (for when there's no data connectivity) and then the app can upload the data (populate the spreadsheet) when a connection is available... I can access it via Google Chrome but Google Chrome doesn't work when there's no data connection, hence the request for an app...

You said "design". ;)

If the latest Google Drive can't do forms offline, try editing the form's spreadsheet (that can do offline - latest version of GD) directly.

Edit: I've done the spreadsheet editing many times. It's safe. The next time you use the form it will populate the first unused row. But sync the sheet first before using the form again.

I may have to resort to that but it's really not ideal because with a form you can have multiple choice questions which you can just select but with the spreadsheet you have to type out the whole answer each time.

Found VpnCilla - the only one that I could get working so far.

Edit2: Scrap this, Android's built-in VPN functionality does it all.

I'm looking for a free torrent app with a built in scheduler to schedule downloads after midnight. I dont see any free versions out there. Any ideas?
I am also not interested in using a phone scheduler to disable my data or wifi after midnight hours as I need my phone to be connected. I just want to end all torrents after early morning hours.
 
On my Nokia N9 I had an app called "my moves". It allowed one to control the phone through gestures and swipes on the screen. eg skipping a song while playing a game or reading an ebook. You could open apps and stuff with that. Thanx.

controlling an app with gestures while in another app. Haven't seen anything like that on android.

I have, even tried it once, but as is the nature it uses your cam so needs to run constantly, which negatively impacts your batter. Think I only kept it on for a few days, for me it was useless.

Honestly not sure what it's name was, pretty sure I was on gingerbread at the time, but I know it exists. May be worth resorting to a Google search.

Why not just use any torrent app and tasker or similar to launch and kill it on schedule. Will achiever desired outcome.

Personally never did that myself, only use torrents when desperate. If you want to use something safe and more stable you can install NZBGet, it is a fully fledged Usenet client with all the bells and whistles for free.

No, spreadsheets can make select lists.
Have not made one personally, but ha E worked on them.

I have worked on ones with select lists, filters, radio buttons.

Yes that's what I ended up doing as I could not find a torrent app that supports custom download times. I used Llama app to start Utorrent at 12:01 and then Llama app again to disconnect wifi at 5:59 to stop all downloads.

I must still explore newsgroups. Will try NZBGet. Torrents are safe enough when you only do the ones with lots of good comments and lots of seeders.

Not worried about viruses, the Feds watch torrents, usually the ones with good comments and lots of seeders. Also usenet being server based requires no seeding and is far less prone to speed fluctuations. For the same reasons ISP's are more relaxed when it comes to shaping as torrents take more out of a network with multiple connections and seeding.

I use a seedbox for all my torrents, the few that I download.
