Android App requests / Looking for an app that does X - thread

I've used my gmail account for everything work and personal for donkeys years, but now I've been allocated a webmail account from a company in Europe that I will occasionally get the odd email from, maybe 1 or 2 a day at the moment.

So short of logging into the companies web page and doing the manual thing every now and again, I'm wondering if there is an app that I can use separate from my gmail app, only for this one webmail address that will push an email to me and send a notification. Any suggestions please?

I'm using Blue Mail as a replacement for gmail (don't like the conversation view in landscape on Nexus 7). Works for that, and I haven't switched off the gmail notifications yet, so am getting notifications for both.

On my phone I'm using Samsung's default app to keep gmail and my club's mail separate (gmail's conversation view is fine on the phone). Get notifications for both there too.

Grief, I forgot about Samsung's own app. I've had an S2/S3/S4/S5 and a Note and I've never actually used it :D

Will check it and Blue Mail out now thanks :)

Flash player for android!

I think I read somewhere that there was no longer flash player (adobe) on some android devices but you could get an older version of it.

What do I look for for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0?

What version of Android do you have on the Tab 2. I have the Tab 3 and hardly use it because of 4.1.2 Jelly Bean (Samsung and custom roms are slow to release). More on S2 with 4.4.

It says Android 4.2.2 on mine not sure what sweet it is. Total newbie with this.

anyone recommend a free podcast app? and some good podcasts while we are at it :D

I know you wanted free, but there is no podcast app that comes close to the awesomeness that is Pocket Casts. Seriously, check it out.

Can anyone recommend a app like the blackberry hub? Where it displays all the emails/messages/bbms/WhatsApp in one viewpane and click on it will take you to its native application.

Coming from a blackberry Z10

I'm not sure what the blackberry hub is, but does the notifications in android not do exactly what you described?

Thanks, what are these about?

So far I'm happy with using doubleTwist. It allows me to follow certain podcasts and downloads the latest episode over wifi automatically when available.

Currently I have Android Central, All About Android and Tech News 2Night on my follow list.

I was thinking that its quite hard to get South African content sometimes in our apps. For example when reading the news we don't always only want to hear about what is happening in Afghanistan, or how how some sweet Granny in the UK has gone to the shop that we get from NY Times, BBC, CNN, etc. Flipboard, News Republic are all amazing ways to read the news, but the content isn't from a local perspective. Which is why we all have News24 on our phones.

Anyway, so i'm trying to see what I can find that is out there and in the News space I was pleasantly surprised. I found quite a few new News Apps out there and I've tried to review them on my blog.
Basically the list is: (the link will take you to the play store)
News24
BDLive
eNCA
and EWN

While I still love News24 for it's news that is so up to date, I find the interface often frustrating. My favourite and my conclusion was that the EWN (Eye Witness News) app was the best. Simply because I could continue browsing stories right from where I left off.

If anyone else has any great South Afircan content apps I would love to know! hmmm..... maybe I should start a new thread about this :)

The news in Google Play Newstand picks up more than enough South African news.

So nobody is using Pocket Casts? Free version is good enough - pay only if you want cloud sync. (Disclaimer: I have the paid version - works beautifully across devices)

Podcasts worth grabbing (my version):
Star Wars:
- Star Wars Minute
- The ForceCast
Mobile:
- All About Android
- The Voicemail
- Android Central
- The Phones Show Chat
Tech:
- Accidental Tech Podcast
- TalkCentral
Sport:
- Chequered Flag Formula 1

As you can tell, I am mobile focused.
