Android App requests / Looking for an app that does X - thread

Easy Battery Saver (in reply to the turning the wifi on and off question, sorry forgot to quote *fp*)

I think you're missing the point of this thread a little. There's a great android apps thread already.

This one is intended for people to post about functionality they're looking for in an app and for others to match it with an app...

Think she is responding to post 12 & 17 without quoting.

Sorry guys but why not develop something together? Something for the local market that everyone can get to enjoy? Make it free, and we all get that x-feature

Stick the code on github or something?

Hi, is there a alarm clock that will ring, even if the phone is off. Like with the old Symbian phones.

A lady friend, got a sony last week, and complain. Her previous phone did that.

Me think she want to rest, no calls, save battery, etc.

a problem I have with modern phones is, people get this "computer", and does not know how to use it.
I found this forum and learn a lot here, but most will never know what a smartphone can do.

In case the battery dies through the night, I know the older phones even if dead would come on just for the alarm.

There is not much that will drain the battery in aeroplane mode. If she changes her habits slightly by charging the phone before going to bed, she will be fine. Also, if she needs to make an emergency call for some reason, getting it out of aeroplane mode is a lot quicker than waiting for the phone to switch on

My son (3) plays on my tablet, and then moves icons, creates new desktops etc. This means there are a lot of desktops with gaps in between the icons, or only like one / desktop. is there an app that can re-arrange the icons, remove spaces and delete desktops that are empty.

TIA

:D
I doubt it. Backup the apps often and do a nandroid backup once a month. Then you can restore the nandroid backup first and afterwards the apps

it just needs to re-arrange the icons, not install / uninstall apps. Something similar to "auto arrange icons" in Windows, and just clear up space on home screen(s)

How about using a different Launcher? Nova Launcher has the ability to lock the Home Screen and contents thus no rearrangements can be made...
