Android App & Widget Thread

I have been using my internet quite extensively and the net billing app still shows that i didnt use any data. Is there something additional i should do?

Google Apps

Google apps to look out for.

  • Google Car Home (Which looks good, but can't seem to get working)
  • My Tracks (GPS Tracker, which is pretty awesome)
  • Google My Maps Editor by Google (which doesn't work, but hopefully this changes because it looks quite useful)

Thanks, yeah, I have the Legend, I know there are 3 types, but I'm only interested in the "Phone Keypad" type... My fingers are too big and I make too many mistakes using the qwerty keyboards...

Oh, and I've tried swype, don't like it that much... prefer a good alphanumeric keyboard like my 5800 had, its so much faster...

Just an update, over the last 2 months or so I've been using Swiftkey for text input, its brilliant! Not only does it try to predict what word ur typing, it also remembers sentences that you've used! The more you use it the "smarter" it gets, it really speeds up text input considerably... Unfortunately the beta phase is over tho, so now you'll have to pay for it, but its definitely worth it.. Don't bother with the trial version, the text prediction funciton is disabled so its kinda pointless...

PandaHome - Themes for Android.

Edit: My touchwiz disapeared... Don't know if I am glad about it yet. ;)

Hi guys, just some apps I think yall should have a look at:

Apps:
- Handcent SMS: Great messaging app
- Quick Settings: Never used Power Controls before but this has all the same stated functionality and more
- ThickButtons: Great app for those who struggle when using the portait qwerty keyboard
- 3G Watchdog: For those of you who want only your 3G/GPRS/EGDE traffic to be tracked i.e. NOT your Wifi traffic

Games (too many to explain each one, but all are definitely worth a try):
- Jewels
- Blocked Stone
- WordUp!
- Puzzle Attack
- Mole Miner
- Air Control
- Replica Island
- Phit Droid
- Grid Droid
- Tower Raiders

Just a few more useful apps that I've downloaded recently:
- Bluetooth File Transfer (especially useful for transferring install files between android phones)
- Dialer One (great replacement for default call log and People app - find a specific contact faster)
- Guns n' Glory (a slightly different tower defense game)
- Pda.Net (great app for using ur phone as a modem - google it)
- Rockplayer (DivX/Avi player)
- TubeMate (great app for downloading youtube videos)
- Xkcdviewer (for fans of the comic strip)

Problem with gtalk.

My gtalk app on my phone (Android 2.1) is funny, when I get a gtalk it show up in the notification bar, but when I click on it sometimes it does not update the gtalk conversation. Anybody else have this problem?

I used swiftkey for a couple of weeks when it was in beta. It had some potential, but it started to get seriously laggy near the end.

whatsapp now has pop up notifications. One step closer to awsomeness. Just need LED fix, and more settings with regards to how you handle the popups.
