Android tablets hot on iPad heels

It's just because there is no Nexus tab yet. If that is released later this year it will be a different story. BTW brilliant picture. Hahaha! Love it. All Apple books are written by fanboys like the Steve Jobs biography. I don't care about the secrecy of Apple. Their patents give lots of stuff away anyway. It's usually those fanboys that want Google to do evil. So they can say them bad.

Entire OS with cheap and expensive devices combined vs one device

Apple's numbers are devices SOLD. Just wondering, is Android's SOLD or SHIPPED? Or maybe even a mix?
Wouldn't be the first time SOLD has been compared with SHIPPED.
I mean look at the Playbook's numbers. at first, the numbers were high (for them) and people thought it might just be THE competitor, but the reported numbers were devices SHIPPED and what happened later? The numbers fell like crazy when they couldn't keep SHIPPING in big numbers because it was selling and stock was piling up.

If a person takes Android vs iOS, then the numbers would be interesting.
 
It's a pity the Prime was such a flop, guess the market will catch up when it's second iteration comes out.

Kindle Fire is nowhere near competition to iPad2. I have one. It's junk compared to the iPad2.



Here's the basic problem: If McDonalds sells more hamburgers than Burger King, that means that McDonalds is beating Burger King. If Toyota sells more cars than Ford, Toyota is beating Ford. But in tech world, Android is being given away for free, and every single component has a different profitability element - and 100 different vendors have to split the same margin of profit from that 40 or whatever percent of the tablet market among themselves. Nobody in that value chain is catching up with Apple - Android itself is just a nebulous piece of software. Apple is laughing.

Eish, if I had a Dollar for every time I've read: "Just you wait for the xxx tablet to come out, then we'll see." I'd have quite the Apple stock portfolio right now ;)

I see they tout "free delivery" on their site. There would then just be a VAT charge of 14 % of the value plus a small admin charge - I think admin is 40 or 50 bucks, but Gary can tell us.

I would like to get one to play with - I see for a few more bucks you can get better tabs with better specs, like camera's - Gary's doesn't include a camera (very handy to have), better resolution, more on-board memory etc.
Interesting to see none of them have GPS built-in or built-in 3G
