WhatsApp launches iPad app

Meta Platforms Inc.’s WhatsApp released an iPad-specific version of its popular messaging app, belatedly offering a larger-format experience to users with Apple Inc. tablets.

The optimised app, available now, allows for a two-column layout and supports iPadOS multitasking features such as Split View.

This is awesome news, I've been waiting for this for years, why it’s taken so long is beyond me.
I won't really use it on my iPad but as a backup it’s invaluable, especially when your phone gets stolen or damaged you can at least pick up where you left on the iPad while the phone gets replaced or sorted.

This will help tremendously with kids at school where they now dont need to have their cell phones with them anymore but rather one device for which they use for school
