Tried Nokia's Here maps on a Lumia this morning. Works well + it can work offline.

Its coming to android (samsung galaxy range) soon.

HERE is a strong competitor and rival to Google. I also heard that Nokia is to invest dedicated (now that mobile devices are gone) resources into their GPS applications (technologies). Also, those developing alternative OSs to Android or Forks, picks HERE.
