Android Useful Apps

i find adblockers completely useless. but that's because i don't browse the internet on my phone. i might google something quickly, but that's about it. also don't like apps with ads, and try to avoid by all cost

Tried DNS66 now (the real one, not the Play Store fake). Doesn't hold a candle to Adguard or PIA's MACE filter. It's so useless that most ads in Chrome slip through.
I've used DNS66 for months on my pixel. Not a single ad that slips through. Can you post a site where ads slip through in chrome?

And you did update the hostfiles when you installed DNS66? If you don't update it manually the first time it won't block anything.

The app did have a pop-up saying it wouldn't work without host files being updated. I was under the impression I had done so. Not especially keen to reinstall the F-Droid app store and DNS66 tbh, considering how much slicker the Adguard experience is.

The Cybersecurity Humble Bundle was worth it just for the year of PIA VPN, and if Adguard is thrown in then I may as well use it for a year (at least).

Not an option for people that don't like Firefox on Android though. I'd sooner use the Brave browser, which is very similar to Chrome but with built-in ad blocking. But then I'd lose my bookmarks being immediately on hand, the nice Chrome start page with interesting news articles and Chrome's faster rendering. Also, Brave has redesigned its start page to be a list of most visited sites rather than the minimalist early-Chrome style. I hate browsers that do that, and it's one of my biggest gripes with Firefox (super crappy start page).

Why would you need to send your phone in with a sim?
If they need anything online they can use their in-store wifi?

sorry i meant all my data on phone, apps etc.....sim will stay with me........many people ive spoken to says they wipe your phone b4 returning. If i can i would like to save me all the re-installing of app and so........

All good now, i found and cool backup app that restores everything with app preferences........
Incl app preferencesfor all apps??
Only app that can do that is apps like Titanium or similar and they all require root.

it does indeed requires rooting www.jpg, got ahead of myself there a bit.......
and what about Nova - Ive exported my preferences to google drive.....
will Nova be the same once i restore my settings ?

kinda. but you have to make sure all the apps are restored first, before you restore your nova settings, otherwise you are left with a desktop full of empty spaces and broken widgets...

What do you play with it though?

Spotify, Play Music, Apple Music etc. all have their own apps, and you're surely not about to tell me you haven't yet boarded the music streaming train?

I have an extensive cd collection which I copied to hardrive many moons ago. Probably in excess of around 800 cd's. How does an online streaming app assist me in that regard?
