Android Useful Apps

The killing apps thing started with Oreo on P10 lite and worsened from Andoid 9.

Edit: 3rd party apps with background, screen off permissions.

I'm on P10 and Android 9. I don't have this issue.

Have you done with the "Battery Optimization" (do a search in settings) to tell the phone not to kill the app, and the Battery -> App Launch and set apps to "Manual" and enable the various options?

I did yes, but to see if anything's changed I installed Tasker now and also followed their additional suggestions to see if anything changed.

Edit: I see this discussion is on page 187. I hope it's not a bad omen. :)

I am running Tasker as well without any issues regarding the app being killed. I can't say I have ever had an issue, even with other background apps I explicitly don't "Don't Allow" battery optimisation, and enable the launch and background in battery - app launch. I don't have any apps set to automatic in battery - app launch options though, all set to manual.

Strange. Worked fine for me on my Honor 9 Lite with Miui 9 before I passed it on.
I'm trying it now with everything on manual in app launch like @AdrianH suggested. And many apps without auto launch on start.

Thanks for the suggestion. I always did manual for about 10 apps only.

I set all mine to manual, and then only allow the various start and background apps I want to have them.

If you go to Battery - App Launch, click top right, there is a batch update option.

To confirm, you also set the Battery Optimisation? Not Allowed meaning the OS won't try kill the app.

So the App Launch is separate from Battery Optimisation

Those are mod apps, are they safe to use ?
How do you know when a site/app is safe to try, sorry for the ignorance.

i wouldnt mind trying a few mod apps but would like to know which app/sites are safe to use.

I'm looking for an app that will force Wi-Fi switching.
I have multiple Wi-Fi networks in different parts of the house, but my phone doesn't switch to the one with the best signal automatically (where there is overlap between networks), I have to do it manually (if it's worth mentioning, some of the networks have the same SSID and password but function on different IP ranges).

Any recommendations?

Sort out your network. You don't need multiple WiFi networks to get extended coverage. Your config is wrong.
No such Apps exist AFAIK.

If I had the cash to buy the hardware, sure. Right now I have to make do with wi-fi routers from previous contracts, that don't mesh- and as far as I can tell, can't do seamless handover. Also, the apps do exist, I'm just looking for a recommendation from someone who has had good experiences with such an app- obviously not you.

Yet you said you are looking for such an App. If they exist, test them.

Looking or need a site or feed that shows latest new apps added to the App Store. Not the one on the App Store as it’s been told that it’s not 100% accurate.

Not an app but a useful tip nonetheless. I turned a contact that I know blocked me on WhatsApp into a notepad. It has helped for typing out simple notes, things to remember, directions etc while on the move.

Can also create a group and remove the other person leaving just you in it.
