Android Useful Apps

Gmail. Evomail is good for IMAP.

Tapatalk had gone free, BTW.

Did you see the reviews? People are going ape sh**. Apparently the devs took the previous paid version, made it free and released a new paid version. So the pro guys have to buy again. Some people bought it last week! Now it's free.

Very unethical :(

No, the HD version was renamed to Pro. There seems to be quite a few that have that problem though, and others that simply downloaded the Pro as an update.

Strange. They better fix it though, I would be annoyed. I just downloaded the free version now, have never used it before. Looks good so far.

Well Tapatalk use to be paid for as well, was cheaper than Pro/HD. I bought the original that now gone free. Not the 1st time this happened either, Splastop remote use to be paid for as well but the original paid version went free wen new version came out.

I got no problems with this either. I take it that the money I paid was worth it for the time I used it and see it the same as aging software on a PC.

You can not exactly add all the features for free till the end of time. So you need to make a clear cut and stop dev on older version with a branch for a new one. Its only fair to make it free if you stop adding new features/stop support.

I'll pick this model above the other one where dev's create DLC's like themes and charge extra for it. Tapatalk tried that, I am so glad they let that model slide.

I also bought the original Tapatalk which is now free. The issue is that they didn't stop development of the old version, instead they forced an totally net UI update on the old version, which is now free. And many people, myself included, do not like new UI. I would be happy if they made it free and left the UI alone.

Why is it that sometimes I update an app and then the app needs to be updated again one day later? This happens quite regularly with a variety of apps. I updated the MEGA app yesterday. Then again this afternoon. Now the apps needs to be updated a third time in about 24 hours.

Is it the developers who change something small and rerelease an update without documenting the fact? Or is there something wrong with my account/devices?

Absolutely agree...
I also preferred the older UI that I paid for....
To add, when I access certain imbedded youtube videos, it prompts me to sign in to prove my age... but when I clink the link to sign in, it does not work...
I never had this issue with my paid for version.

I suspect that there is an issue with the update that they need to fix

If you do not like the New interface you can download the old one for free directly from them

Missed it when used with nova prime and tesla unread plugins enables notification badges for just about any app that uses notifications. Also comes with a handy and highly customizable widget.

Thanks to Maverick Jester for this one....

Yea also saw the post from MJ. Thinking of buying it, could you notice any effect on the battery?

Difficult to say for definite. I got a lot going on at the moment.

Was having WhatsApp push issues so installed push notification fixer a couple of days ago.

Only installed Missed it yesterday so can't say for sure. Will need more time with it to say for sure.

I don't run any battery stats app either so can only refer to the default battery stats.

Right now I'm battling to keep my hands off my phone but I still comfortably get through the day on a single charge.

What phone do you have?

I'm not even going to mention that I posted Missed it! 8 minutes before MJ...

Yeah, unfortunately/fortunately a lot of stuff gets rehashed!! Both this thread and the Show your android screenshots thread are 70 pages strong. I must have missed it! :o

Great app though, worth repeating!

Nice one Soul Assassin. :p

Does anyone know how to get changelogs for updated apps? I used to see it when updating apps manually but now Google Play started auto updating apps, even though auto update is turned off in the settings menu of Google Play.

I'm hoping there's some kind of app for changelogs or something...

I use to use it before the auto update was out to auto update but has what you looking for.
