Android Useful Apps

I tried Firefox for Android today because I'm sick of Chrome for Android not having my bookmarks in sync (I use Firefox on PC). Well damn, Firefox for Android has changed a lot since I last checked it out ages ago. I prefer it to Chrome even. Excellent browser!

My chrome for android works just fine. Syncs everything in seconds. You sure you know what you doing? :p

How do you sync Chrome for Android with Firefox on PC? Regardless, Firefox for Android is a more pleasant browsing experience imo so I'll stick to it.

People still use FF on PC?

Jokes aside, I use Chrome both sides. Never liked FF TBH.

I've tried Chrome on PC briefly and missed Firefox terribly. Chrome doesn't have a dedicated search bar (universal search sucks for less popular search facilities), it doesn't handle live RSS feeds well, it doesn't look as professional a product, you can't recover accidentally closed tabs in a microsecond, it's not as good for custom scripts etc. Firefox just received a big update too and is even better.

I'm a huge chrome fan. Trying FF now because of the new update. Looks much better now.
Both gives me the same functionality that I need. For me its just basically a change of scenery.

I use Google+. Each family member shares location and done. I have a widget for each family member on my home screen which shows their current locations at a glance.
No significant impact on battery life.

The way I understand the service, this periodically updates your location.

I'm specifically looks for an app/service which allows me to request the GPS position of a loved one, as to minimise the impact on battery even further. In my experience, Google Services (on which Google+'s location update service relies) does not have a significant impact on battery life on KitKat, but on previous versions of Android it drained the battery.

Have you tried Life360?

I have a family of 5 and it became very important that I was able to keep tabs on my kids whereabouts. G+ location sharing so far has been the most accurate with the least impact on battery life.
My daughters are using S3's on Jellybean. Only my wife and I are on KitKat.

I used this for a while. Killed the battery of all devices that had it installed. Also found it to be quite inaccurate.
This was over a year ago, so perhaps things have improved.

Agreed, it is a battery hog. My wife has a Note 2 so her battery can take the hit.

What is nice though, is the location update request and also the history of locations if you need to track a route.

Anyone know of any phone/pc mirror apps that will let me use Whatsapp on the PC?
I've tried BlueStack but it's not to my liking....
