I use Chrome on Android. I had used Firefox for a long time, and then Opera Mobile for another long time, but I find Chrome is the fastest and makes it difficult to use the others now.

The UI isn't bad. What browser do you use then? I've tried most and always end up back at Chrome. The closest I've found is Opera.

I used Firefox for nearly a year. Then I gave Chrome a shot and switched over immediately. It was much more responsive, rendering seemed better and it has nicer tab management. I hate Chrome on desktop, so I have absolutely no predisposition towards the Chrome browsers.
 
How to eliminate default start-up sound on Hisense phone?

Does anyone here have the Hisense Infinity Prime 1 android phone. I think it is also known as the Hisense U970? It runs Android 4.3

My vrou has just bought one, and the start-up & shut-down "tune" is a grating, loud, & annoying ear-piercing noise. I can't find where to change that sound to a less-grating noise, or to eliminate it altogether.

I have an Android phone running Android 4.4.2 and I can easily change, or eliminate, the start / shut down sounds in settings.

I can't find the same control on the Hisense. I have looked online for a manual for the Hisense, but no luck, and the tiny booklet that came with the phone does even mention start / shut down sounds

Hi - had the same annoying sound you described
Not sure what I did, but it is gone now - a quick look at SOUND under SETTINGS, all 6 boxes are unticked

That too, but my phones literally just too big for it to be comfortably functional, it goes so against what ur used to that even if it may be faster, which is hindered by constantly putting up screens telling you what it's doing instead of just doing it,it makes it only marginally more efficient.

I just don't like that I actually need to stretch my thumb to use it, this needed to be made before phones exceeded 4.5 inches.
 
Any app that works like Action launcher's side app drawer?

Tried Action launcher but it's not for me, the only thing i like is that slide in from the side for the apps

Prefer Nova Launcher, especially after the material update

Sloth Launcher is pretty cool.
