Is there any app that let's you hide soft keys on phones like the Xperia Z range and still allow the keyboard to pop up?
Have tried a few but with each one you have to leave full screen each time to type.
Never found one. Huawei has that feature built into their custom skin. Very nice addition.

If you ever find one that works, let me know!

I know. Used to run exposed. Don't want to root my S6 yet though. :9
That makes ur question odd the, seeing as exposed modules only exist to fill gaps ewen what normal apps can do and what we want to be able to do. No way a store or even simple root app gets anywhere near core system modifications.

Every phone I've ever had I rooted literally as I got it.

There are apps in the play store that claim to do some basic functions to some Xposed modules. Tried them, and they're flakey at best. That's why I asked.

Didn't want to root my S6 just yet, but I'm just going to have to root and install Xposed if I want any functionality that only Xposed can offer.

That is true, it doe snot support Samsung with 5.0+ or 5.1 on any device. Yet another reason to add to the list of reasons not to buy samesung.

It does work on Samsung 5.0 devices. Some experience bootloops on stock, but there is a fix for that.

There is an exposed module that will do that.
Indeed there is, I gave it a try and it works well. I dumped the xperia though, back to Samsung, screw that I want all the screen all the time, with hardware back keys etc, mapped swipe back etc works but sometimes having the hardware is indispensable Does the S6 have this soft button nonesense now?

Thank goodness, the only thing not having hardware buttons does is save the manufacturer money it's not for the end users benefit

I prefer the soft buttons. You get mostly screen on the front instead of a reserved space for hard buttons.
Make the phone a bit smaller too with the same screen size.

Just my preference.
