Android Useful Apps

I'm not using a 3rd Party launcher on my S8+.
I have Nova Prime though. For the first time in many years I just don't feel like installing it.
Am I missing out on something?
You need us to tell you!?

Nova smashes any stock launcher, especially because you can backup the full desktop setup/layout and app settings. You restore from your last phone using the Google play store on first boot/setup of your new device, then once all your apps are installed all you need to do is open Nova, restore from backup(I save backups to Drive) and instantly your phone is setup/tweaked to perfection.

I want to use my sim card's 3G as my connection. But I want to simultaneously use the WiFi shared on my PC to stream stuff. Any options?

EDIT: Wrong thread.

Just disable mobile data on your phone and wifi enabled? I can't think why you'd want 3g for data when you're connected to WiFi anyway.

As I say, I created a WiFi network on my laptop, I want to connect to it and stream (watch content on the laptop) but whilst in the process be able to WhatsApp and stuff, I don't want to use the WiFi for Internet.

Why don't you want to use the laptop wifi you're connected to for whatsapp etc? You're already streaming video to your phone.

Watch content on your phone or laptop? I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to say/do here.

Is there a reliable android email client, with proper push notifications, that doesn't force you to have threaded conversations in Gmail? I can't believe Gmail hasn't sorted this out yet. When last I checked there was no workaround if you wanted to use a mobile app, which I do. Any ideas? The clients I've tried either don't support reliable push notifications, or don't have non threading as an option...

I have tried every email app I can find, and they all rubbish, while I have no direct issues with gmail, it does lack a few features I would like that I have seen in other clients, but they all fail dismally in the NB things, mainly the email part.
Personally I prefer the conversation view, cannot stand utterly disconnected emails and it is probably why google has not 'fixed' it, as everyone I know at least also prefers it, so it is conceivable that it is a small percentage of users like yourself that do not, making it a non-priority for them.

Really? Hectic. I'd have thought I'd be in the majority for once. My tech needs are often pretty exacting and niche but I thought everyone liked it the old-school way, without conversations...

I've also tried many other email clients, even the paid ones and still end up going back to the stock Gmail app in the end...

Ever since outlook brought it out many years ago, everyone has been following suite, and it is soo much easier to keep track of past happening in an email, especially a chain when they in conversation view, otherwise you alwasy need to gi find them, or accidentally delete them because they are now 'old', with conversation view that is less likely seeing as they are only as old as the youngest, maybe there are other benefits, but I on occasion will simply head to a few weeks back and delete everything, usually just skimming over them, if at all.

I have not actually seen an app that does not support it, yes they support the old way, but they all support it, if everyone is doing it, there must be a reason. Every now and then MS does come up with a good idea. lol

What phone do you have? The Samsung Stock Email is probably one of the best "old school"-type email app.

BlackBerry Hub+ supports threaded or non-threaded, push notifications, etc.
