Will there also be a competition for those who believe iOS is better than Android?

After all, not all of us are adept at writing fiction.

You seem to have no problem in your 1st line?

Why would someone arguing against android want to win an android device? Should have thrown in an iPad.

I guess this would be the biggest reason.

But in the same time, I would soo argue against Android if it was to win an iPad, not because I dont like Android but because my iPad 1st gen is a tad dated and in need of an upgrade :)

Don't be fooled. It's actually a cunning ploy to double their tablet marketshare. :whistling:

I'm saying win both... would open a lot of the fanboi's eyes if they had both to play with.

Actually probably not.

Hmmm did I miss-read initially or was I ninja'd? I'm sure the OP said we could give opposing views on why iOS is better than Android as well.

Android is better because you can do the following things:

  • Use full GPS navigation for free, without buying any third-party apps
  • Customise your homescreen with widgets or live wallpapers
  • Replace core system applications such as the keyboard or launcher without having to root/jailbreak your phone
  • Take smug satisfaction in running any app you damn well please, including ones that would not be allowed on the App Store or even the Android Market (in the latter case, thanks to sideloading) (see here, here, here, here, here, here for examples)
  • Take advantage of full multitasking: run an app in the background to monitor your data usage, upload your media player output to Last.fm in real time, automate any setting you can think of using an application like Tasker, etc.
  • Get the majority of applications that you need for free
  • Charge your phone or transfer data using a standard micro-USB cable that you can at any shop very cheaply
  • Transfer information beween applications using the system-wide "share" interface
  • Copy music or video files directly to and from your phone the way you would to another PC, without being forced to use "media management" software on your desktop (although you can do that too if you want to)
  • Use the built-in contacts manager to contact someone directly on Facebook, WhatsApp, Google Talk, or any other third-party app that integrates with the contacts manager
  • Buy games even though you live in South Africa (trololol)
