I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet and I'm considering getting the Htc Desire X smartphone and also use it as a hotspot for my tablet. Considering the internet data speed figures below, how will the speed of the HTC smartphone affect the speed of the internet in my Galaxy Note when connecting via the smartphone?

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (N8000)

Speed: HSDPA, 21 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps
WLAN: Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, dual-band, Wi-Fi hotspot

HTC Desire X

Speed: HSDPA, 7.2 Mbps; HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps
WLAN: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot

Thanks

You'll find that in most cases your speed will be limited by your network not the hardware on the device. Run a speed test on your tab, you probably wont see anything near 21Mbps anyway.

I agree with Park@82.

You'll get exactly the same speed you get on the tablet as you do with the phone.
