Android's eSIM conversion feature gets closer to launch

Just out of curiosity....does esim use more or less power than a physical sim? I personally don't get the fuss about esim...unless one travels alot and want to get easy access to those international Sims that you can sign up for online.

Lol will never be allowed just like timely Android updates.
Interesting that you mentioned this.

Just received the upgrade this morning.

It's the same for me. 5G uses more power. Also great not having to mess with the sim tray.

While I was streaming 24/192 I was thinking ... didn't Pixel and Samsung have eSIM first so that people didn't have to mess with the SIM tray ?

Very easy, by all reports by mates who have used it overseas in Europe at least.
Yea it was a genuine question.

When I took a trip with a dual SIM phone, I landed abroad … walked to the kiosk … bought a pre-paid SIM … and was up & running 5 minutes later to call my Bolt

I thought with an eSIM it may be more cumbersome to get the details of the MNO & require a store visit rather than the little kiosks. In other words, I thought it may be more of a hassle to get setup and running.

But it seems with the app quoted, there’s no need to even chat to anyone or play with settings, provided the MNO is supported
