Gents get MTN 24 hour unlimited data bundle = R50 or 1700 loyalty points, probably done upwards of 500mb since 11am yesterday morning...

also netcounter to monitor usage.

netcounter also has a monthly usage monitor and you can set it when to start. so for instance with mtn contract on 21 or 22 whichever the day is. also of course you can set a warning feature when you hit x amount of data.

but like dj and kingrob say, these babies are meant to be like a mini computer in your pocket. and i use mine as such.

I tried 3G Watchdog, but prefer NetCounter... now if only I could find one that breaks it down by 3G/wifi and and by app! TrafficInfo (or is it TrafficStats?) does show by app, but you can't tell if it was over 3G or wifi. Any recommendations?

Everything yes....but youtube is free for me...i use a certain application...."I hear you have a limit on download size too" yes and that would be because of you using your default browser... i use BOLT for all my downloads and it's free....not a single cent...

, BIS isn't true unlimited. Its unlimited browsing and email. And there's restrictions to the file sizes of the attachments of the emails.

"Quite" wrong there....yes you are correct in terms of unlimited browsing and email....and as well file restrictions...all fixed up with there new operating system...and my downloads are all free... "With" Bolt browser.....you tube as well free..its the best i tell u

This would be a great thing....but it is not just a question of "giving" Android users a unlimited plan like BIS. What RIM has in their favour is that they are the manufacturrs and they implemented this umlimited idea from the beginning. They put the infrastructure in place and rolled it out. When it comes to Android, you have multiple device manufacturers putting their own customizations into Android etc etc. Who would pay for the infrastructure to be laid down?

That is where RIM is strong. They are behind the Blackberry device, they develop the Blackberry OS and they are in control of the BIS and BES networks that the different world operators link into.

With Android there is so many players that it would be difficult to coordinate such a idea I think.

With the compression technologies incorporated into the handset and the BIS servers, the bandwidth that the network needs to acomodate is much less as apposed to a Android user for example. That is where the infrastructure comes into play.
