I don't fight. Ever. I listen to what she has to say and find out why she's upset. If it's something I can help with, I do. If not, I'm still there for moral support. I tend to keep my nose clean so I don't give her reason to be upset with me and if she is, I find out if she's being reasonable. If not, I let her vent, then ask her if she's ok, then discuss what's really bothering her. That said, I will not tolerate being spoken down to or having a mistake I made help over my head. If that starts, I just stop speaking. My body language generally lets her know I'm upset and she knows to leave it there. That means it doesn't end in a fight.

Cath if someone made a joke a black guy i would find it funny. It's all about the way your post i layed out, if its layed out in an attacking sexist or racist way then yes maybe i would have a problem as well but if the post is light hearted and you can see clearly its a joke then i don't see the problem.
