I'm just wondering what some of you guys have got or are expecting as an annual salary/pay rise/increase
I am yet to get any info on my increase.
would be good to know what people are getting under the current economic situation/climate

I don't get that, lets increase it by 5 to 6% while the world around us increases everything by 10% a month sometimes

10% Where have you been the national DEMAND is 18%. I guess we the employees that are not wage workers end up with the table scraps.

Got inflation + 8% this year, but got 40% last year after raising the issue that I was being underpaid according to market value of my job description.

I am being underpaid but when I raised it they said that I shouldn't have accepted the offer then. Any tips you can offer?

An obvious one that most people do is to switch jobs. I only benefited because I've become indispensable. Losing me would directly affect the company as I am one of only two people who are qualified to support, test, develop and integrate customised pieces of business-critical software. Qualifying another person would require at least a years worth of training and investment - something that they don't have the resources to do.

So yeah, basically either switch jobs or make yourself indispensable to the company :)

So screwing the boss isn't an option?

tbh I'm only expecting a max of 6%.....rather poor actually and thats after getting an excellent on my performance appraisal.....18%..yeah that be the ticket alright.

I got promoted, got very good reviews and 5% yeah woohoo

Raise != promotion, correct?

It's almost expected. So if you get 'promoted' you should get a larger increase? How does Lupus end up with 5%? Or is that 5% on top of the promotion increase?

Is there a difference between a raise and an increase? Does one do the inflation thing, the other reflect your growth and increasing value to company?

10%

I'll find out at the end of next month. If I get less than 10% then I'm outta there. I'm also underpaid, but I'm dispensable so my only option if I'm not happy with my increase is to go work somewhere else.
