There isn't much camber, like on a road. Aircraft tyres are designed with grooves parallel to the runway to deter water.Well ive never seen any types of drainage systems on a runway, nothing on either side to allow for the flow of water. But what I have noticed is that no runway is entirely flat, maybe they are designed to allow water to runoff rather than sit in pools.. ive never seen pools of water on a runway, even when it rains hard.

jip. It is suppose to have. I see no water to speak of, in puddles on any of the pictures... so I think they are making up and excuse![]()

Light rain was on the weather forecast.
But so too is car tires. The problem is when you hit a puddle of water with force no matter what groves and how deep or many they are doesn't help much.

Aircraft have differential braking / steering , They should also have ABS , they also have a rudder, they can also apply asymetric power to the engines.
ALL things that you cannot do in a motor vehicle.

A/c ABS is called anti-skid and is very effective in providing the best possible braking performance under any particular conditions.
Airlink 135's are not fitted with thrust reversers, so to get differential thrust, you would have to increase thrust on one engine. Not very bright when you are trying to slow down.
The rudder is only effective at higher speeds. At lower speeds the a/c is steered by nosewheel steering.
The problem with a/c are that the speeds are significantly higher than car speeds. Typical touch-down speed for a 135 would be around 135kts (about 250km/h). Things can go wrong very quickly when you are travelling at 70m/sec.
