Another Eskom load shedding warning

Well, Time to call and order more diesel for the geni - Or maybe I should ask santa to send some DRY coal to eskom this year.

JOHANNESBURG – Two of four generators which stopped working this morning have been fixed, Eskom said on Tuesday.

The unity says the risk for load shedding remains high.

Four generators stopped working earlier today despite the power grid remaining stable over the weekend.

Eskom’s acting spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe says two generators stopped working due to technical issues while the other two were hit by lightning.

“The good news is that we have recovered two units now and we are now working on restoring the other two at the power stations.”

While Eskom remains confident the lights will stay on over Christmas, the latest threat of load shedding increases the risk of blackouts 25 December.

Phasiwe says technicians are working around the clock to prevent this.

Routine maintenance is also taking place in the Fourways area today.

The utility has been battling with limited generating capacity, problems at its power stations and a shortage of diesel supplies.

Like I said before, Eskom will not be able to fix the power crisis in this country. We will, in the near future, experience a total collapse of our electricity infrastructure. It is now only a matter of time - with or without load shedding. The collapse cannot be stopped any longer.

Translation: the 25th will be spared but the moment it turns into the 26th the technicians are planning the biggest load of bulldung to be shed on the heads of all you fscking suckers.

Eskom Chief Executive Officer Tshediso Matona previously warned that rolling blackouts will be a reality for the next few months as the parastatal tries to stabilise the power system.

But on Monday, Eskom said South Africans can expect “a load shedding free” festive season.

At the same time, Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa was appointed to help turnaround Eskom, South African Airways and the South African Post Office.
