I’ve met this man before. His name is Chris Peerce, a Principal Geotechnical Engineer in our industry. Sad loss and condolences to the family.

I walked into the office this morning and a close friend of his started crying on my shoulders. Thats when I heard about the news.

no matter what is the skin colour (or profession) of a crime victim, it is no differences in my eyes. It is you and your anc fellows always said media being emotion to report white crimes. I think you are too selective for this issue.

I simply have to add my 2c. I sometimes get frustrated with the "farm murder" hype, hear me out first please. Now don't get me wrong, in turn I am also not saying that "farm murders" should get any less attention or are less important or whatever, but I am sometimes worried about the fact that farm murders get much more attention than Joburg murders (for example). The murders that happen in the urban areas are also just as brutal, senseless and so on, so if a few hundred farmers are murdered versus maybe thousands in the city, why is farm murders then a crises more-so than murders in the city?

I am horrified at every murder that occur so please don't see this as me trying to be insensitive towards the subject and I guess for anyone who is affected by a murder, a question such as this will probably be insensitive and I almost feel guilty talking about these horrific crimes in a seemingly nonchalant manner, but I just don't get why "farm murders" are considered to be a crises on it's own as apposed to part of the greater murder nightmare existing in the country.

This is an honest question, so no need to roast me, just some insights please, cause maybe I am missing something?
