The best and I mean the best business laptops, there are no better laptops, are made by Panasonic. They make hardcore Toughbooks (fully ruggerdised) which the US Marines use in Iraq (sand, heat) and in sub-zero temperatures as well for industrial and paramedic/police use. They also make Business Toughbooks called Let's Note. These things are very light, very well built (designed in Osaka Japan, assembled in Osaka) - don't flex at all and the 14 inch models can be dropped 78cm (shock mounted HDD), water can be spilled on the keyboard and you can sit on it (100kg weight resistance). 1.35-1.5kg of laptop with DVD-R drive built in and 16hr long life Panasonic battery. They're expensive though and you won't find them in SA. You can order from a site like Conics.net but if you're happy to go to Singapore or Hong Kong on holiday - you can often buy them there. Just email ahead to see if they have stock because they sell out in Singapore too. That's the ultimate best and most reliable notebook you can get for business use. It's not for gaming though - so no discrete graphics but you'll stand out in board meetings with a Panasonic notebook. No 1 business notebook in Japan, btw. Why do I punt them always - because ever since I bought one in Singapore in 2008 (CF-Y7 model), I've never used a better notebook. Anyway just my 5c.
