What a question. I cannot fathom this guy. Must be the age?

No more comments! he not only "enforced his will" but attacked and defamed another poster while doing it!

Typical of what me must endure in all TV threads on a daily level. Refer the comments yesterday on Marine's post!

Yeah, I agree with you - it truly is shocking.

So now I need to take the Plasma in (where?).

I do not have the boxes.

It is a huge inconvenience. If I bought a Sinotec, sure. But did not expect this from Samsung.

This:

Your comment makes sense because Samsung boasted a 0% failure rate, unlike Sinotec.

Take it back to the shop that you bought it from. You don't need the packaging. Just your receipt.

Only those with an agenda would have people believe that 40" entry LCD is better than 43" entry plasma for movies, sport and SD.

Samsung boasted a 0% failure rate? Link? How any electronics company could do that is baffling.

To be fair, McGuywer didn't say anything about having a bright room. And after taking the TV home, he had a week (or two) to realise that the TV was too reflective for his needs, in which he could have returned it for a full refund or exchange.

Thanks efitol.

Plasma technology is not yesterday, it is being developed much like LCD and LED, the reason TV companies are pushing for people to buy LCD/LED is that its cheap and easy to manufacture and that makes them more money, the quality isn't really there concern, as long as it looks good enough. Plasma has a naturally high refresh rate which gives a very smooth image and iv seen these 600hz refresh rate LCD in action, I noticed that when watching HD TV with that on, the image is smooth for like 5 seconds then stutters as the video feed is constantly playing 'catch up'. Yes Plasma is an older tech in a sense that it has been around longer but is also still being developed, the problems people face with plasma has been fixed since 2005 when plasma was the next big thing. I have seen all types of TVs and I can tell you that Plasma gives the most natural image by far. I currently have a 46 inch Sony Plasma display and going to purchase a 52 inch Samsung Plasma in the near future. Also if you use a Xbox or PS3, plasma is the way to go.

If it was supposedly best advice, he wouldn't have known that he had a better alternative.

My, my - first there was one, now there are two. Didn't that happen in Start Wars as well?

There are few alternatives these days - even LED backlit LCDs have reflective screens. LG are doing good things by using matte screens in a few of their LED backlit LCDs. Glossy screens look far better to the unsuspecting buyer, what better surface can one get diffuse light from an LCD on torch mode.

When was the last Sony 46inch plasma made? (if ever?)

Seriously? He takes the TV home and all he sees is a reflection of himself instead of the rugga and he thinks to himself "I received the best advice, nothing wrong with this telly!"
You're giving PP too much credit.

So that justifies his continued attacks on other members for posting their opinions, experiences and views? Also his repetitive posting of the same information over and over? Why is his 2'd nick "PlasmaPot"

I vote for a PlasmaPot only subsection on this forum!

Shame, a one man army deflecting all the instigator attacks from your lot.

There's a very good reason he kept it. Because it's an excellent TV which suits his purposes, especially considering the budget and the fact that 43" plasma was much cheaper at the time.

Like I said, MacGuywer can sell his new plasma and get an LCD. Consider that a dare. ;)

Ha, so you recommended to poor "unsuspecting" people to buy Plasmas. And how many people live in caves these days?

The "attacks" come from both sides. That he has a second nick only proves that.

They have their own eyes too, a reflective screen is glaringly obvious in a well lit store.

Most people have no choice but to live in caves because most people watch TV at night time, darkened rooms are the best for picture quality. The less ambient light the better. This is why when you go to the cinema, you are effectively in a cave. And it'll be the same if you visit during the day.
