Another price increase

And yet it's still cheaper than Cool Ideas that charges R639 for the same thing.

Afrihost always seems to be the cheapest of the big ISPs

i have never had bad service from mweb but maybe time i moved over

only issue is i dont want to have downtime for internt so need to know how to cancel

and get afrihost without having alot of downtime

Would be nice if they had a presence on the forum, don't hear much about them at all
It would be nice indeed but saying that In the last 5 years I've been with them, I've had to contact them maybe 3 times and had one international outage for 1 hour and one Gauteng outage for 45 minutes, both times got an SMS.

So now the 400/400 package with WebAfrica is increasing by R110, from R850 to R960. That's now within R30 of Afrihost's 400/400 which, I assume, will have a much more stable network and has MUCH better support.

Bruh, they announce a price increase while their network is dogsht due to the MWEB acquisition. Whoever is working in marketing over there needs to be checked into a ward.

@Afrigirl you guys expecting a price increase on your Metrofibre customers over the next 3 months or has it already been implemented?

What are the chances they won't increase when other ISPs do?

MWEB legacy ballies don't just leave mweb.
I'm one of those legacy ballies, been with MWEB since 1999:eek:, started with their async service, dialup uplink and satellite downlink. But I'm getting g@t vol with them, was thinking of upping my 10/10 package to 25/25 with them, then discovered Afrihost are offering a 30/30 package for R2 more than I'm paying for my 10/10:mad:. Monday morning we are going to have that conversation...

Good luck with that conversation. If you get through in less than half an hour share your secret. Like you, I have been with them since the rinderpest. Two decades and the equivalent of a 25% increase in 2 years. new customers are offered faster speed at R 250 less per month than existing customers. Appalling service. No follow-up. They must think we are morons :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

We have had our package and price changes for Metrofibre this year.

Out of the three in the afrihost group home connect is the cheapest.
R200 cheaper than my Cool Ideas bill and R300 if I go back down to 50/50. Seems like I need to do that while Im on leave and can afford some downtime.

this is my uptime for the year so far, start 1 Jan 2023, works out to about 55ish minutes the year so far. this includes a month where I had a micro outage issue with frogfoot which probably accounts for about 30 - 40 minutes of that.

So very happy with them.

Hi

With Openserve there is no downtime as the B number stays active in the holding pool for at least 12 days.

We have a couple of Openserve pppoe accounts we share with clients for testing and assisting when migrating for them to have service. Drop @Afrigirl a pm to get access to one of these.

You may just be - you stayed with one of the most expensive ISP's for 2 decades... :X3:

Maybe its to do with the underlying fibre provider? Mine went down by R176 with a small 5Mbps increase in bandwidth from beginning Feb. You are on Openserve fibre whereas my fibre provider is ZOOM. Also I'm on a mickey mouse 15/15 whilst you on 50/25.
