Hi guys, so I am looking into getting a new tv, now my budget is 8k and a 40 inch will suffice, well a 42 but Samsung does not offer this. So currently I am looking into the Samsung smart TV, but I just cant grasp it all with all the different series etc. and dunno how to come to the conclusion with what would be the best bang for the buck. So here is what I want to know, is the smart function really worth it? Does it justify it's price, what are it's features and how can I benefit from it etc. Also I want 3D, it will be used, must also be easy to connect to the pc, as it will be going through my pc basically all the time, I also want to use the TV for gaming from my pc, so basically giving it the feel of a console when playing fifa or tennis etc., then what is the point of wlan on the tv, is it just for browsing the web from the tv or am I able to stream content from my pc onto the tv, i feel that would require alot of bandwidth so i cant see it being used for that, then also the debate about plasma and led, I would go for the plasma purely for the price, but the led quality just seems better when comparing. So if there are alterantives pls share, if you have links to sites were I can good price also please share.

So my key points here:

*Must have 3D
*Easy to set up with the pc
*Full HD obv
*Will be used alot for gaming, mostly your sport/arcade games, as I use my 24inch for rpgs and fps

I'm going to need a new tv soon but with all these dilemmas I really think I'm just going to go for a good ol' fashioned CRT :o

Is it 8k really worth the price for a tv? I'm just trying to see if it justifies the price, I paid 15k for my pc, yes it may seem like a lot but it just feels totally worth it, just wondering if i'd get that same satisfaction from a tv.

Don't be sorry - just another chance for Roman And Postman to have a go at each other... One of them should get a girlfriend :erm:

Thanks but prefer being single to mingle. Got any advice for the OP or are you just into sideline chips?

Be about only 1m-2m
The reality is with an 8K budget you cant really go wrong sticking to popular brand name models. I have a 2010 LCD, 2011 LED & 2012 plasma (all Samsung) and they all work very well with my PS3 & XBOX360. I would say though the (gloss) LED produces the sharpest 1920x1080 image at close range viewing.

You could actually get away with spending less than 8K for ~40" but the expensive part is your 3D requirement.

UA40ES6200 40" 100Hz SMART 3D LED-LCD will be your best bet, or the LG equivalent if you like them.

IMO 40-42" also big enough from 1-2m. Bigger screen will add a lot to your gaming experience.

I'd recommend the UA40ES6200 as well, unless you're fine without the Smart features, in which case the UA40EH6030 would be the next option, being slightly cheaper with the same PQ.

If I could find the UA40ES6200 for 7-7.5k id be happy, just cause i'm still gonna wanna buy a bracket, otherwise i'll just save, maybe I am lucky and theres a special at the end of the month somewhere.

Thanks the UA40EH6030 seems decent for the price, are they pretty much exactly the same, just without the smart function?
