Anti anxiety tablets

Here's a suggestion - get the root cause of your anxiety/depression/whatever else properly diagnosed, and then get the proper treatment prescribed, if any. Don't go to a doc & lead him into giving you anti-depressants, or beta blockers, or whatever some people on teh innerwebz said works for them; allow the doc to do what he studied long & hard to be able to... diagnose.

On a not wholly unrelated note, Dr. Ben Goldacre on the nocebo effect... be warned, the language is slightly colourful:

Which means i cannot process what is going on due to my state of panic. A bit hard to meditate when trying to explain something to client/s
No man. You don't meditate *during* the meeting. The idea is to reduce your overall stress level.

You could also try taking a bottle of water into the meeting with you & taking sips of water at strategic times. It gives you a convenient way to gloss over gaps & glitches or if you need an extra 2 seconds to think before speaking.

Thats the ideal solution...in practice things are often a lot trickier.

If someone wishes to take medication it's no business of yours.

Um... offering my 2c on a public forum? Like I said, it's my opinion and the dude is more than welcome to ignore it if he wants. I'm sorry if my attitude about dealing with life without the need for medication offends you.

I'm not saying don't go to a doctor. I'm saying that unless the doctor diagnoses you as having a MAJOR disorder, you shouldn't take medication for dealing with your emotions.

I.E. Lots of people get prescribed (or in some cases ask for) drugs so that they can avoid dealing with negative feelings.

Exactly.

The only true cure is to deal with the cause of the problem. Sure take some meds to take the sting out of the attacks to help you get on top of it but long term use of strong drugs like SSRIs is asking for trouble.

It helped cure somebody I knew who had a extreme panic attacks.
