Hope someone can help me :)

I am looking for a free anti-virus program for commecrial use. Anyone got any ideas what programs are good?I gave tried google's Spyware Doctor, but had a few troubles with it...

Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Dude, seriously... I'm not crapping on you... but there have been about twenty threads discussing Anti-virus since the beginning of this year alone. Did you read them first?

And the short answer is... no... there are none that are good enough for commercial use (and it probably violates the license terms anyway).
Spend the money and get Kaspersky or NOD32 for your commercial needs.

Hey Xman i recommend Avast antivirus.
The version i use is free and it bliksems the virus.
It even has a voice that warns you if a virus is detected.
Very reliable.

If it is for commercial use, don't go for the free option.

Nod32 rocks!

For commercial use you might want to look at Trendmicro Office scan. Its not free but then again you wont find any free commercial use anti-virus programs that are decent. Also a general rule of thumb updating is very important. No matter what AV you go just be sure to do regular updates/scans.

MSE - nothing stops anyone using it for commercial purposes.

Just a quick question and I hope I don't get flamed for this, but has MSE been tried and testing fully in terms of major threats out there

MSE works very well - has picked up everything that some others failed to detect. I have it on my XP, Vista and Win 7 pc's currently.

I had Avast previously, which was also very good, but it failed to detect a few items...

The Norton Av small business edition works pritty well and it nor very expensive it might be an option

Thanks for the feedback howardb, will reinstate it then on my lappie, I just disabled it, didn't think it was gonna match up to my other AV

Hmmm... I just used the uninstall option.

and you think your system is "cleaned"? Check again, there are special Norton remover tools as they interfere with everything. maybe the latest is different as I gave up on them YEARS ago and never looked back. All I ever use of them is 2003 "ghost" cloning (The dos version).

Post 2009 and can talk for itself it yeilds results. What do you mean by "cleaned"? If there aren't any background processes then it wouldn't bother me if the installion files are the only remains left on the hard drive.

Norton used to interfere to much with Windows DLL'd etc in the past. By cleaned I mean many of these install files and remnants remained and interfered with many new Installs, hardware and software. Look at incompatibility lists and Norton used to be on top of the list! Therefore there was special third party cleaners just for Norton remains.
If you are happy fine, Me once burned twice shy!
