Any Northcliff problems tonight?

Has anyone experienced any Northcliff tower problems tonight?
Reason I ask is that this tower is my only means of connecting, unless I get the antenna up on the carport, where I pick up an array of towers with uber-cr@ppy signal (>-114db/10-30%signal). I've had to do just that tonight. Northcliff totally disappeared off my visible towers at about 5:30 this afternoon, from -86db/100% signal to nothing.

The whelpdesk swears there is no problem with the tower. What to do...

05:31:31 was the last time I saw northcliff as well ... normally can see it sometimes connect to it

I love the way they lie ... I will keep track of when it comes back up and how long it was down for ... RPM you would love that info?

Northcliff down from 16/11/2005 17:31 till 17/11/2005 07:44

A total of 14hrs13minutes downtime.

Nothing mentioned in icident reports.

Effect: People who can only connect to northcliff would have had no service.
People who sometimes connect to northcliff would have had poorer quality connection.

I've experience Very slow speed on the Northcliff tower since last night and this morning I could only get a 5% signal and the Frame Error Rate as 75%.

I phoned them this morning at 07H05, and was told to look at my rooter, which I don't have. Then I was told that my hardware is faulty and I must bring it in, which I refuse to do.

I told them first check your tower. At about 07H44 all of a sudden I receive 100% signal and the Frame error rate is 0%. I was told that they will phone me back if there is a problem with the tower. Well still waiting for the phone call.

It seems that they are too damm scared to phone back and admit that they don't know what is going on in their company. How is it possible with all the technology that they have that they can't monitor there network properly?

I discovered that nobody can create a folder or file anywhere named
as "con". This is something pretty cool...and unbelievable... answer why this happened! Try it out yourself

Anyway tried it about a month ago and it is true.

That is because it's a reserved system device name, just like LPT1 or COM1 etc. You won't be able to create those folder names either. It's like that for backward compatibility with old 16bit DOS apps.
