Any one purchased something from Orange lately?

Tried to purchase a Moto E via Capitec, didn't work though. Might just have been me though.

Shipping to non JHB areas should take 8-9 days, to JHB 6-7 days I believe.

So yes, it's quite the wait.

@zahadoom - I ordered some phones from them. Took more or less the same time as they advertised (7 days). Cannot comment on the service as I never had any issues. I do think however that their on-line ordering system has a couple manual steps.

All and all, I got what I ordered in perfect condition for a good price.

I ordered a phone about a month from them. Their site said 3 days, but it took about 8. Their customer support also never replied to my emails.

That said, I'm very happy with the phone and its price (Xperia Z1).

They're excellent, no problems. Shipping normally takes as it's stated on the site but DHL is the real problem.

Why? What went wrong with DHL?
DHL have a lot issues, not only with Orange but will also with Amazon. They require you to send your invoice and other things like your ID number more than one time as every is not organized properly on their side.

Ordered a few items during the last six months or so. Apart from one item taking a little longer (apparently no stock at suppliers) no problems.

How long did shipping take?

Good or bad experience?

Ordered tablet. Happy in general.

Whatever the site says about delivery time, add 3-4 days. If they say 6 working days it is 6 working days until the couriers get it.

Orange is shipping stock from their warehouse in JHB now, so there shouldn't be issues like that anymore.

I placed an order on Thursday. Today the order status changed to "Awaiting Stock", which is slightly confusing as the phone was listed as in stock. Either way, the site said 6 days, so going on previous comments I'm not really expecting anything until the end of the week at best.

I've been waiting 2 weeks for delivery now. It was supposed to be only a couple of days. Every time I go look at the order tracking page it says: Expected 3 days. At some point it said in stock and then the next day it was expected a in couple of days again.

At this point I'm annoyed with them because I'm going on leave for a week and was hoping to get the phone before then. Contacting them by email takes quite a while to be replied to and then the replies are vague without answering the question directly.

I don't think I'll make use of Orange South Africa again.

I'm in the same boat. I think it has to do with the availability of the device you've ordered.

I've had a bit of a meh experience.

- Bought my M8 on June, it arrived faulty.
- Two days later a courier picked it up.
- A month later I received a new device. Same issue.
- Around a month later, they finally sent someone to fetch the phone (I moaned on their FB page)
- Two weeks after it had arrived in JHB, I asked what was happening. Turns out they sent it in for repair instead of ordering a new one. They ordered a new one for me (this was last week).

It's pretty much been three months borrowing other peoples old phones ha ha.

I'm having the same problem with their order tracking page. On Friday it went down from "Expected 8 Days" to "Expected 2 days". And it's been there since.

Having been through the dodgy count down before, I have learned to just embrace it, and wait :/

That sounds incredibly frustrating mr_norris.

I wonder if I can just cancel the order. I phoned them yesterday and they promised they will phone me back that exact same day and of course they never did. It's still showing as Expected 3 days. Every day it's expected 3 days and it's two weeks later. Support is poor and reading your post I'm not sure that I want to deal with them anymore.

I'm still in two minds about them. I think one would get better service if there wasn't a need for after sales service, or a need for replacement.

Even at the price I paid 3ish months ago, it's cheaper than buying through one of the networks.

Only frustration is the wait :/

I ordered a nexus 5 from them last week with a expected date of 3 days. Well after 3 days it went back up to expected 3 days again.

Cancelled my order yesterday and bought a Oneplus One which I have already received.

I don't mind waiting but their order tracking systems just pisses me off.

How did you cancel the order if I may ask? And did you get your money back immediately? I'm tired of waiting.

*edit*

Cancelled the order on their website. Support is poor. Now I just got to wait and see how long it will take for the money to be available in my account again.
