Maybe look into that. Accidentally deleting resources is not the only reason for disaster recovery.I’m less concerned about getting things back than I am about dealing with irate clients when things are down.
You'd think he'd have made it crystal clear that there's a critical DOS app on board... If he didn't, not sure I'd have let it get under my skin too much. For me the worst mistake I ever made was formatting a clients PC after backing everything up but missed one old DOS app that he used to record his rainfall data for the past 15 years on his farm…
I still cringe today.
As long as you didn't overwrite anything most should be recoverable if the 3TB isn't an ssd.Not a cloud resource but the other night I connected my old SSD, one that I removed from my desktop, to my Mibox and decided to move my internal storage to it.
I have 2 other hdd's connected to the same USB hub than the newly added SSD was connected.
I went through the process to format the drive so it can be linked to the internal storage... Today I realized that I selected the wrong drive. Instead of selecting the 120GB SSD, I selected the 3TB hard drive that contains my movies and series collections dating back to 2013.
I am now waiting for the data recovery software to finish scanning the drive in the hopes that it can be recovered. Last time I did a recovery of a drive, most of the files were corrupted. The last drive contained software that I could easily get again... This time it is not so easy as most of the content is very very old.
EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard TechnicianMovies and series… the internet is just one big HDD
But yeh… quicker to recover. Which software are you using? Just don’t recover to the same drive lol.
I have never had any issues with it all these years, the other 4TB drive I use has a backup, it seems like it's on its way out as it keeps connecting/disconnecting when connected to the computer, but not the Mibox. But I get what you say. I will have to get a drive to back it up to, it's a externally powered hard drive, I think that is why it is lasted so long, it's not regularly used to load new data.As long as you didn't overwrite anything most should be recoverable if the 3TB isn't an ssd.
But why no backups, that's like juggling knives, a hdd can randomly fail at anytime?
Ouch, my condolences. Not a cloud resource but the other night I connected my old SSD, one that I removed from my desktop, to my Mibox and decided to move my internal storage to it.

Most of the movies I have replaced with fresh downloads. The very old stuff is in the miriade of "Lost File Name" I will sort through tomorrow.Ouch, my condolences.
A few years back, I decided that I wanted to have as much of the stuff I care about in the cloud. In the end I settled on Mega, as their 8TB subscription (billed via iOS) is extremely reasonable. Moved all my external HDDs - dating back to high school - to the cloud, and lightened up my Dropbox too by archiving old client files off to Mega.
The small monthly fee is well worth the peace of mind imo. Now it's all safe, accessible any time on any device, and I don't have to worry about hardware failure, theft or fire. Every now and again I'll take an hour or two to prune the Mega files, as it's probably mostly stuff I no longer care about or can easily stream. But that will take ages and I can now take all the time I want.
No duplication though, you are trusting Mega not to glitch or randomly ban your account for some arcane reason?Ouch, my condolences.

When you refer to Mega, are you referring to megaupload.com or something like that? I thought megaupload was closed down years ago due to piracy or the likes. No duplication though, you are trusting Mega not to glitch or randomly ban your account for some arcane reason?
Mega is extremely popular. Wouldn’t expect random glitches or arbitrary bans, not unless you’re using it like MegaUpload or something. The quality of their platform is excellent. No duplication though, you are trusting Mega not to glitch or randomly ban your account for some arcane reason?
Mega has roots along that line but it split from or was an offshoot from all that Kim Dotcom bs. It’s just Mega. Mega.io.When you refer to Mega, are you referring to megaupload.com or something like that? I thought megaupload was closed down years ago due to piracy or the likes.
